  • Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art

    Formally known as Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE), the Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA) is a non-profit, non-collecting institution committed to promoting innovative contemporary art and thinking. The word “tephra” – matter ejected from geothermal eruptions that lands upon, nourishes, and changes the surrounding environment - emphasizes the institution’s belief in the combustibility of creativity and the generation of ideas and growth that the arts can provide.

    Tephra works with artists, galleries, institutions, universities, thought leaders, and collectors globally. They rely on a variety of funding sources for programming, including memberships, sponsorships, grants, donations, and other fundraising efforts.

  • Reston Farmers Market Group

    The Reston Farmers Market at Lake Anne Village begins its season in late April and operates until the middle of December from 8:00 AM until 12 noon in the parking lot that serves Historic Lake Anne Center. The market features numerous vendors with a variety of homegrown/homemade healthy fresh products. It has been voted the "Best Farmers Market in NoVA".

    The Reston Garden Club has been an active part of the Reston community since its organization in 1970.

    Programs and projects of the club are designed to encourage interest in home gardening, better horticultural practices, flower arranging, civic beautification, and the conservation of native plants and wildlife. Membership is open to all interested residents of Reston and surrounding communities whether they are novices or experts.

  • Walker Nature Center

    The Walker Nature Center provides a variety of educational resources, programs and facilities. The Center enhances people's awareness, knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the environment. It conducts on-site and outreach programs for people of all ages.

    The Nature Center is owned and operated by Reston Association. It was named after Reston's first Nature Center Director, Vernon J. Walker who believed in a healthy coexistence of nature and people.
